This just in....Lets see if we can make something from nothing.....and not just anything....
This will be a stunning 1971 392 Hemi, 5 speed, Dana RESTOMOD....Loaded with factory options, and a gorgeous colour combination of FJ6 Sassy Grass green, white interior, white billboards....
They all have to start somewhere...Stay tuned !
First steps when converting a car to a resto-mod is get rid of all the holes and things you don't need. In these pictures you can see I welded up over 50 holes in the engine compartment alone !
Adding mounting studs for the new components is next....
Finally the metal work has begun. The crew at Mike's Autobody is making fast work of the panel replacement.
Starting with the floor pans from front to rear as well as both door posts. The car is now rock solid and better than new !
Metal work is finished, just about the whole AMD catalog on this one, but she's looking good and 100% rust free now...
With all the metal concerns finally address, the shell re-media blasted, it's time for the first coats of epoxy primer. Won't be long now.....
Body work has started !
Dave, Allen and the rest of the gang are really moving along with the body work. Gaps are looking perfect !
While the guys are busy at the body shop, I'm busy in my shop with the sub assemblies. Here's the new 392, TKX 5spd and RMS suspension, all pre-assembled and ready to install !
